You and her and him and them. Everyone is welcome at MyBrightFi. You just have to be at least 18 and need a Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), and be able to send us a picture of your U.S. government-issued ID (such as a U.S. driver’s license)
Yes! Your MyBrightFi account funds are held at Webster Bank N.A., Member FDIC, and are FDIC insured up to $250,000. Our technology is best in class and we protect your account on a secure platform.
We have moved away from paper checks. You can make transactions almost anywhere in stores and online with your BrightFi Mastercard® debit card and mobile wallet. You can also pay bills using your card or by supplying your account & routing number to the merchant. You can also pay your bills in-app using our BillPay feature!
Direct deposit is the ideal way to manage your money. Once you’ve signed into your account in the app, go to the main menu (swipe right, or click on the hamburger icon). You’ll see “Account Details” where your account number and routing number will be listed. Click the button that says “Direct Deposit Form”, and we’ll create a form you can either email or print out to give to your employer. If you have any issues, just contact our Customer Support Specialists and we’ll be happy to help. Your entire paycheck will be available immediately on your payday.
You can deposit a check in-app using our mobile check deposit feature. If your check is accepted for deposit, the funds will be made available to you no later than five business days from the date your deposit was accepted. You can also set up direct deposit with your employer and have your paycheck directly deposited into your account for immediate access.
Unfortunately, you cannot deposit cash into your account using the MyBrightFi app yet, but that feature is coming soon!
Yes! You can withdraw cash at any MoneyPass ATM without additional fees (find one near you here). You can withdraw cash at an out of network ATM, however third party fees may be charged by that ATM's service provider.
At MyBrightFi, you spend what you have. We don’t charge overdraft fees because we don’t let you overspend. So no, we don’t offer overdraft protection because you won’t over spend. You can easily check your balance in the app before making a purchase.
Yes! We don’t run credit checks and you don’t need any prior credit history to join MyBrightFi. Your account can help you save time and keep more of your hard-earned money. You can manage and keep track of your money and work toward your financial goals.
Yes! We know how difficult it is to get a bank account once you’re in the CHEX system. We also know your past shouldn’t define your future. Our industry-leading verification tools mean we don’t have to rely on the CHEX system for the MyBrightFi sign-up process.
MyBrightFi charges a subscription of $4.95 each month. That’s it. There are no hidden fees, no overdraft charges and we don’t try to sell you things you don’t need, like credit cards or loans. The account fee covers some of our operations. We also get a small percentage from the store when you use your card to make a purchase.
